She'd Lost the Thread - Digital Print
Where would I be without thread? The humble cotton reel was the inspiration for ‘She’d Lost the Thread’ series of work. This design was created by digitally manipulating an image of a cotton reel on my studio table, which also encompassed the cast shadow.
Printing and dyeing is the foundation of my work but I love to add thread. I see stitching as a way to draw and add texture to my textile pieces and although I see it as a key component, stitches are usually a small part of the whole. I have stitched into some of my prints on paper and this is an area I would like to develop further.
As this is a digital artwork, it would be possible to change the colour and size of the print. Please email me at marian@marianhallart.com to discuss your requirements. This will be printed to order.
